Fees, Hotels, and Transportation
Registration does not include the hotel fee. Once you send confirmation of your registration to us, you will be sent a special code to book your room at our discounted rate (see below). Hotel cancellation is a separate process and you must do that on your own. In order to attend the conference, attendees MUST be registered at the host hotel. There are no exceptions to this policy.

How to Register

Pre and Post Conference Rates
If you want to enjoy Manchester and the surrounding area at your leisure, both hotels are offering a special $199 per night rate, excluding tax and resort fee, for both pre and post Friday and Saturday (03/24 & 03/25 + 03/31 & 04/01) contact hotel directly to take advantage of this special offer for SATW attendees.
The conference registration fee includes- meals: opening and closing receptions with heavy hors d’oeuvres, (3) breakfasts, (2) lunches, in-area transportation; complimentary Wi-Fi; and day tours.
A one-day Mini-Meeting price is also offered to include breakfast, lunch and professional development only for Marketplace day (evening events not included).
Attendees will be required to show proof of full vaccination or a negative rapid or PCR test from the last 48 hours before checking in. Mask requirements and social distancing will follow local guidelines for Bennington County.

Kimpton Taconic Hotel
Drawing inspiration from Vermont’s grand inns of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Kimpton Taconic Hotel meets your gaze with traditional clapboard architecture and a grand front porch that invites you to sit, breathe and set your cares free.
The hotel boasts mountain views and pet-friendly rooms, with bikes available for rent and the signature Kimpton “social hour.” There’s also an onsite fitness center and a store with souvenirs and provisions. Rooms have yoga mats and walking sticks to explore with.
The Copper Grouse tavern serves up a diverse blend of updated yet unpretentious classics in the regional American culinary tradition. The chef sources ingredients from local farms to create a menu of familiar yet inimitable fare.
Beverages at Copper Grouse incorporate mostly American wines, craft-brewed beers, and many local spirits, including whiskey. Cocktails are anchored in classics and are often influenced by American history or literature.
There are 35 rooms available at $149 per night, excluding tax and a reduced resort fee of $15 per night. This fee includes valet and self-parking, access to the shuttle, upgraded WiFi, complimentary daily newspapers, and complimentary electric car charging.
There are a number of airports near Manchester but please note that all require further transportation.

Travelers from Boston can hop an hour long Cape Air flight into Rutland (RUT) – 30 Miles, 40 mins. Once you’re on the ground, rent a car or book a taxi.

By Bus or Train
Travelers on Amtrak and Greyhound can take the Vermont Translines bus from Albany into Manchester for $20 each way. The journey takes under two hours and has wheelchair accessibility, WiFi, and a bathroom on board. For Amtrak, combination tickets can be purchased with guaranteed connections from the station. This bus line also services the Burlington airport, Burlington Amtrak station, and the Albany airport.
To catch the Vermont Translines bus from the Albany Amtrak station, leave the platform and go to the lobby, out the first set of doors. Take a left and take the elevator down. One side will be parking and the other has the bus lot where your driver will be waiting for you. The bus drops off in Manchester Center and a shuttle will take you from there to your respective hotel. Note that there are two Translines buses in each direction daily, so plan accordingly.
Situated along one of ten designated byways that wind throughout the state, if you opt to drive or rent a car, you’ll discover what’s so special about Southern Vermont. The backroads are key to finding the very best views and memorable touchpoints with local history, culture, and cuisine. But for a quick drive, the major highways are also an option.
Note that there are no rental companies in Manchester, so you’ll need to pick up elsewhere. The closest car rental agency is Enterprise in Bennington, VT 30 minutes away. They are available at national airports like Albany (ALB) and that car rentals are available at airports like Albany (ALB), Burlington (BTV), Hartford (BDL), Boston (BOS), and New York (JFK).
